People

A host of people who have contributed to the development of the rural community councils and ACRE Network, at various stages in our history

The rural communities’ movement has been blessed with a host of dedicated and gifted staff, members and other supporters. Since the 1970s, David Clark has been assembling a wealth of material from a range of national and county archive sources, to build-up pen-portraits or biographies of some of these key individuals. Sources have included rural community council/ ACRE Network documents, press reports, published obituaries, other historical records and colleagues’ memories. Inevitably, these biographies are not ‘definitive’: there is always scope to add to or refine the detail, when new sources and perspectives come to light. We would also encourage people to pen their own autobiographies and reminiscences for inclusion in this website.
